Committees

We had a great council meeting today after worship, thank you to all the committee chairs who were there.
This got me to thinking-- "committees"
Do you know what committees the Winnemucca United Methodist Church has?
Who is representing the congregation? What they do?
Well.....let me tell you.....
Let's just begin with the
WORSHIP COMMITTEE

Your worship committee is:
Susan Rorex
Debbie Stone
Renee Mayo
Makenna Mavity
Vicki Nye
Maddie Mayo
Linda Felton
Rolly Rollison

Ex officio members of this committee are:
Sybil Carlton--organist
Lola Bohm--our communion steward
and our choir director (which is Pastor Gayle at the moment)

What does the worship committee do?
We meet throughout the year to evaluate and improve worship and plan for special seasons of the Christian year (i.e., Advent, Christmas, Epiphany, Lent, Easter, and Pentecost) in cooperation with the Pastor.
Provide assistance (if needed) and support for the choir director, pianist, communion stewards, liturgists, ushers, and acolytes. (We are lucky to have a administrative assistant in the office who handles the jobs of ushers, fellowship and liturgists.)

If you were in worship today, you heard Pastor Gayle mention that 2014 is the WUMC's 145th year of being a church in Winnemucca.
Pastor Gayle, along with the worship committee, is planning a year of celebration.
We might even be forming a special committee (we Methodists love committees!) to plan special community events during the year. (so start thinking now, if this might be something you are interested in)

And that, in a nutshell is what the worship committee is.
If you have questions, please feel free to contact the any of the members and we would be happy to find an answer for you.

United Methodist Women hold their annual Spring Tea

Thank you ladies for a wonderful "Spring Tea"
It was fun to discover something no one knew about each other while playing  a 'get to know you' game and the food was delicious  not to mention the tea.
